Data Science & Economics at Netflix
MIT Economics PhD.

I love to learn. I got into economics and statistics as an undergraduate at Stanford, took a research position at the NBER, and was convinced to pursue a PhD in Economics. I completed my PhD at MIT, and realized I was most excited to engage with the everyday questions that make the modern economy tick.
After leading a causal machine learning team at Wayfair, I joined Netflix to work on experimentation and proxy metrics. I now work on the Ads platform, bringing state-of-the-art measurement methods to production scale. It's fun, challenging, and I get to keep learning every day.
I still write papers occasionally. Recently, I've been honored to win Best Paper awards from KDD (Applied Track) and AEJ (Economic Policy) with my co-authors.
I'm heavily involved in the National Association for Business Economics (NABE). I'm on the Board of Directors, I co-organize the NABE TEC conference, and I co-chair the Tech Economics Roundtable.
